What is the weather like in Quinta do Lago?

The Algarve is famous for its sunshine and is known to have 300 days of sun per year. July is the hottest month in the Algarve, with average temperature being a warm 24 °C. Even through the cooler months, however, the Algarve is still pleasant, with half the rain and three times the sun compared to northern Europe.

Do I need to rent a car in Quinta do Lago?

Quinta do Lago is three times the size of Monaco and around 2,000 acres! It is a beautiful natural destination to enjoy walking and cycling on our three nature trails and beach, however we recommend a rental car for holidays. Contact Clube da Quinta to arrange rental car, alternatively, transfers and taxis can be available usually in less than 10 minutes.

Where can I find the nearest train station and timetables?

The nearest train station for routes in the Algarve is in Almancil. For routes to Lisbon the nearest train station is in Loulé. You can find the timetables here, contact Clube da Quinta with your preferred timings and we can book tickets and transfers for you.

Where can I find the nearest bus stops and timetables?

The nearest supermarket is Pingo Doce, inside Quinta Shopping at Roundabout 1. There is also Apolónia Supermarket and Food & CO/ TESCO in Almancil, both of which stock UK products.

Do Quinta do Lago property owners pay a resort fee?

No, there is no resort fee. However, there is a fee for security services that needs to be paid Infraquinta for water / garbage collection.

Are there tax or visa benefits to owning property in Quinta do Lago?

Yes. In addition to the D2 Visa for entrepreneurs and the D7 Visa for income earners, Portugal offers the Nomad Visa, ideal for remote workers and digital nomads. How many golf courses are there at Quinta do Lago?

Quinta do Lago has three championship golf courses: the North Course, South Course and Laranjal Course. Each course offers a different experience, combining challenging golf with the natural surroundings of the Algarve.

What golf memberships are available at Quinta do Lago?
We have three different memberships available, to please all our members. We have a life title and 20 year memberships available in Quinta do Lago (North & South), and Annual Membership in Laranjal.

Are Quinta do Lago golf memberships refundable?
No, unfortunately the membership is not refundable. We as a golf management make every effort from our side to make the course available 365 days a year to our members.

Can I cancel my Quinta do Lago golf membership?
Laranjal membership is annual membership, every year in December you can decide if you want to join for the following year. Regarding the 20 years membership available in Quinta do Lago courses (North and South) you can drop the membership but the annual fee needs to be paid and is not refundable. Regarding the life title you can sell you title, but until you sell you title you have to continue to pay your annual fee.

Do I need a handicap to play golf at Quinta do Lago?
To play in any of our courses an official handicap certificate is obligatory, unless you are playing with one of our teaching professionals. Maximum Handicap allowed in our courses: Men 28, Ladies 36.

What is the dress code for golf at Quinta do Lago?
Yes, there is a dress code to play our courses.

Acceptable Dressing Code: Shirts must have a collar or polo neckline; Shirts must be tucked into trousers; Tailored trousers or shorts with belt loops; Socks mandatory with golf shoes only;

Not acceptable Dressing Code: No t-shirts or football shirts; No shirts without sleeves and collar; No jeans or combat trousers; No bathing trunks or similar with strings; No trainers, sandals or nay kind of shoes not suitable for golf.

Is there a dress code for the Quinta do Lago driving ranges?
We have two driving ranges, the one located in Quinta do Lago has a more sympathetic dress code than the one required on the Golf Courses. However the one located in Laranjal has the same Dress code rules as the golf courses.

How long does it take to play one round of golf at Quinta do Lago?

18 holes: approximately 4 hours 30 minutes
9 holes: approximately 2 hours 15 minutes

What is The Campus at Quinta do Lago?

The Campus is a premier multi-sports hub built for athletes and open to all residents and guests in Quinta do Lago. With flexible daily and weekly passes, you can enjoy The Campus’ high-performance gym, tennis and padel courts, swimming pool, cycling, group classes, personal training, recovery suites and sports rehabilitation.

How can I make a reservation at The Campus?
You can make reservations for activities and sports facilities through The Campus online booking portal or the Quinta do Lago App. Depending on the activity, bookings may include tennis, padel, fitness classes, personal training and other sports experiences.

Where is The Campus located?
The Campus is located at Avenue Ayrton Senna in Quinta do Lago. 

Is The Campus open to non-professional athletes?
Yes, The Campus is open to all. Professional athletes and teams use the facilities at The Campus for training and rehabilitation, but Membership is open to people of all ages and abilities who enjoy an active lifestyle.

Do I need a membership to use The Campus?
Yes, however day and weekly passes are available for those staying short-term in Quinta do Lago.

What kind of memberships are available?
The Campus offers annual, monthly, weekly and daily membership options, as well as tennis or cycling specific options. See here for more information.

I’m on holiday and want to play sport. What type of membership is the best for me?
Flexible membership options like daily and weekly passes are a great option for holidays. The Campus also offers sports packages with a complete itinerary for your holiday. Visit The Campus website to know more. 

What kind of sports activities are available?
At The Campus, a wide array of sports and fitness activities are available. These include, group fitness classes, personal training sessions, swimming classes, triathlon training classes, cycling guided tours, tennis and padel coaching and tournaments, and much more. What equipment can I find in the High Performance Gym?
The Campus has two high-performance gyms complete with a full range of TECHNOGYM equipment. Our ground floor gym is equipped with a full range of free weights, bars, racks and functional training equipment. Our first floor gym has a full range of cardio equipment and resistance training machines.

Can I book a holiday with sports activities included?
Several holiday packages are available with Quinta do Lago and The Campus. 

Where can I stay during my sports holiday?

If I purchase a membership but for any reason cannot use it until the end, I will be refunded?
No, memberships are non-refundable.

If I get injury while I’m practicing sport, how should I proceed?
Make an appointment with a physiotherapist and they will advise you the best process for your recovery.

Are towels provided?
All members can hire a towel and robe to use the gym and spa facilities.

How long can I stay in the gym?
There is no limit to how long members can use the facilities; however, we ask that you be mindful and considerate of other members, however we recommend that a suitable training time is up to 60 minutes.

Is there any difference in using the gym on the ground or first floor?
 No, both gym have the best equipment but as we receive lots of Professional Teams, we felt that we need to make sure our costumers have a place to keep their training while they are here using the gym in exclusivity.

Can I use the pool for leisure if I have purchased a daily, weekly or other type of membership?
Yes. 

Can I rent the space for events?

Can I bring a guest with me if I’m a member?
Yes but your guest will have to pay the regular fees, no discount is applied.

Where is the Clube da Quinta office?

We are located in Quinta do Lago’s Roundabout 2. From 15th July to 15th September we are open 7 days a week, from 08:00 to 20:00. For the remainder of the year, we are open Monday to Saturday, from 09:00 to 18:00.

What is the check-out process?
 

Check-out is at 10:00 on your day of departure. Before you leave the property, please close and local all windows and doors, switch off all lights and small appliances. Report any missing items to a member of our team. Keys can be dropped off at the Clube da Quinta office. Let us know if you would like to arrange a late check-out, and we will do our best to accommodate.

What is the check-in process?
 

Check-in is from 16:00 on your arrival date. You can check-in at the Clube da Quinta office, or let us know in advance if you would prefer contactless check-in and we’ll prepare the property so you can go straight to there.

What benefits does the Clube da Quinta card offer?

A range of benefits are available during your stay, including free transfers within the resort and free entry to resort events like Picnics in the Park. The full benefits list in included within your welcome pack. A 5€ charge applies in the event of loss.

What cleaning is included in my rental reservation?
 

Your rental property is deep cleaned prior to your arrival, using state-of-the-art sanitisation sprayers. Quinta do Lago is approved Clean & Safe by Turismo de Portugal. Weekly rentals are cleaned twice during your stay, and stays for two weeks or more are cleaned 3 times on first weeks and twice on last week. (With the exception of Villas Alvas C that has only one cleaning per week).
 

Do you offer dry cleaning services?

Yes. Please contact us directly and we will take care of this for you. A fee applies
 

Are pool / beach towels available for our use?

Yes. They can be found inside the property. If you require any additional towels, please let us know.

When and where does bin collection take place?

The bin collection is made every day by Infraquinta. You can see the collection route and timings here.

What bathroom toiletries are refilled during our stay? 

Toilet paper is replaced in the housekeeping service.

The Magnolia Hotel is located at the entrance to Quinta do Lago, in the Algarve in southern Portugal. The hotel offers a relaxed base for guests visiting Quinta do Lago’s golf courses, restaurants, sports facilities, nature trails and nearby beaches.

What is the closest airport and how far is it from the hotel?

Faro Airport is the closest airport to The Magnolia Hotel, located approximately 20 km / 12 miles away. The drive usually takes around 20–25 minutes, depending on traffic.

Is The Magnolia Hotel beachfront?

No. The Magnolia Hotel is not beachfront. The hotel is located at the entrance to Quinta do Lago, with nearby beaches best reached by car, taxi or bicycle.

How far is the hotel from the beach?
The Magnolia Hotel is located approximately 2.5 km / 1.5 miles from Praia da Quinta do Lago and approximately 3 km / 1.9 miles from Praia do Ancão. Both beaches are best reached by car, taxi or bicycle.

Do you offer transport or a shuttle to the beach?
We do not currently offer a scheduled beach shuttle. Guests can reach the beach by car or taxi, or enjoy the journey by bicycle using our complimentary Dutch bikes, subject to availability.

Yes, guests can get around parts of Quinta do Lago by taxi, bicycle or local transfers. Complimentary Dutch bikes are available at the hotel, subject to availability. Does The Magnolia Hotel have parking?
Yes. The Magnolia Hotel offers on-site parking for guests, subject to availability. The parking area has barrier-controlled access and CCTV, helping provide a more controlled arrival and parking experience.

Does The Magnolia Hotel have electric vehicle charging facilities?

Electric vehicle charging is currently under construction. The hotel will soon offer two charging points suitable for electric vehicles. Charging will be subject to availability, and local fees apply.

Yes. Guests who book golf through The Magnolia Hotel can enjoy complimentary golf shuttle transfers between the hotel and Quinta do Lago golf courses. Shuttle transfers must be arranged in advance and are subject to availability. A shuttle cancellation fee may apply for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled transfer time or in the event of a no-show.
