IT Technician Department — IT


 

The Quinta do Lago Group is recruiting an IT Technician, responsible for ensuring technical and operational support for system users.

 

 

 

 

    • Higher education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (preferred but not mandatory);
    • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in IT infrastructure and systems management;
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office;
    • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware and software systems, IT programmes and components;
    • Knowledge of computer viruses and internet security;
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
    • Ability to work autonomously and independently;
    • Good organisational and time management skills;
    • Strong decision-making ability;
    • Attention to detail;
    • Fluency in Portuguese and English.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide 1st line technical support for all internal staff.
  • Respond to the helpdesk tickets and provide timely updates on all open incidents and issue resolution details within the helpdesk management system. Escalate tickets to other support IT members where necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, smartphones, printers, and other peripherals used by our employees.
  • Install operating systems, applications, hardware drivers, and customize systems following department standards.
  • Update and maintain all IT assets using our helpdesk management system.
  • Analyse problems using troubleshooting skills and diagnostic tools to locate the root cause of the problem and provide a permanent solution to the issue to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist with the employee Onboarding/Offboarding process and all required documentation thereof.
  • Communication with employees, supervisors, managers, directors, and C-level executives, employing a high degree of tact and diplomacy to promote a positive image of the department.

 Technical Experience Required:

  • Basic diagnostic/ troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Working understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of ISO imaging and application deployment.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP protocols and services.
  • Basic knowledge of active directory, domains, and group policies.
  • Basic knowledge of supporting computers in a domain environment.
  • Basic knowledge of networks, switches and WIFI.
