DESCUBRA O MELHOR
CAMPO DE GOLFE DA EUROPA: SUL
Golf at Quinta do Lago is shaped by the landscape itself — pine forests, lakes, and the protected beauty of the Ria Formosa. Across three award-winning courses — South, North and Laranjal — players experience variety, challenge and unforgettable views at every turn. The South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open, the North was redesigned with Paul McGinley, and Laranjal remains a favourite for its setting and flow. Backed by world-class facilities and expert coaching, this is golf at the highest level — in one of Europe’s most remarkable locations.
The North Course was totally redesigned in 2014 by renowned architect Beau Welling, in conjunction with former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley. The new layout was built to the highest specifications, with a €9 million investment. All greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation, and drainage systems were re-built using innovative technology. Four sets of tees have been introduced on each hole to accommodate players of all levels. Golfers are challenged by a combination of undulating greens, well-positioned bunkers, and water hazards.
A favourite on the European circuit, the South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times and remains one of the most iconic layouts in the region. Set against the Ria Formosa, it blends technical challenge with striking scenery, offering a mix of precision holes and open fairways. With recent renovations focused on sustainability, drainage, and playability, it continues to meet the highest standards — and deliver rounds players talk about long after they finish.
Originally an orange grove, Laranjal offers a completely different rhythm to the game. Known for its rolling fairways, mature umbrella pines, and wide greens, the course has earned awards for both design and conditioning. Set slightly inland, it’s a quieter, more secluded experience — ideal for those who enjoy strategy and flow in equal measure. With five par-5s and a strong variety of shot-making opportunities, it’s a favourite among regular players.
At the Paul McGinley Golf Academy, players of all levels get the tools, coaching and insight used by tour professionals. Founded by the Ryder Cup-winning captain, the academy focuses on real progress — built around technique, mindset and consistency. For those ready to take things further, the TaylorMade Performance Centre offers one of the most advanced fitting and analysis facilities in Europe. With cutting-edge technology and expert feedback, it’s designed to take your game to the next level.
