RESERVATION SALES AGENT Department — Reservations & Revenue

Job summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Reservation Agent to assist our customers with their booking needs. You will provide various planning and booking services, including answering customers’ questions, making travel suggestions, and booking rooms and tickets.

To be successful as a Reservation Agent you must be able to work with minimal supervision and have excellent customer service skills. Additionally, you should be able to up-sell and have excellent knowledge of deals and savings available to customers.

Candidate Profile

 

  • Higher Education;
  • Previous work experience with reservation systems or other hotel-related experience preferred;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Patience and good problem solving skills;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills;
  • Ability to speak and write in different languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processes reservations by mail, telephone or in person;
  • Creates and maintains reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing;
  • Determines room rates based on the selling tactics of the hotel;
  • Communicates reservation information to the front desk;
  • Understands the hotel's policy on guaranteed reservations and no-shows;
  • Tracks future room availabilities on the basis of reservations;
  • Prepares expected arrival list for front office use;
  • Walk around with the client and ensuring that they secure whatever services they are in need of;
  • Getting information about areas of interest in order to target more clients in particular seasons;
  • Making arrangements for clients travel programs;
  • Tracks future room availability on the basis of reservations, and helps develop forecasts for room revenue and occupancy.
